La Residencia de Estudiantes me ha concedido una de sus becas de residencia para investigadores.
El Ayuntamiento de Madrid junto con la Residencia de Estudiantes ofrecen estas becas para creadores e investigadores.
En palabras de la institución: «El Programa de Becas es parte esencial de la recuperación del espíritu y la vocación original de la Residencia. La presencia de los becarios supone la incorporación de jóvenes generaciones a la vida de la Residencia, en la que actúan como vínculo de continuidad y hospitalidad con los residentes, que se alojan en estancias cortas. Su cualificación profesional e intelectual contribuye a estimular y mantener el diálogo informal e interdisciplinar que es propio de la Residencia y constituye, a la vez, uno de sus objetivos.»

The Residencia de Estudiantes (Madrid – Spain) has granted me with one of its residence fellowships for researchers.
As the institution explains: «The fellowship programme is an essential part for the recovery of the original vocation and spirit of the Residencia. More than 50 young researchers and artists have already obtained in the past the grants offered yearly by the City Hall of Madrid, the CSIC and the Residencia, and have lived during full terms at our accomodation site.
From its foundation in 1910 until 1936 the Residencia de Estudiantes was Spain´s main cultural center and one of the most lively and fruitful experiences in the scientific and artistic exchange of interwar Europe. Founded by the Junta para la Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas, it was run by Alberto Jiménez-Fraud until 1936. It is well known as a place where residents and regular visitors included world famous artists and scientists such as Juan Ramón Jiménez, Miguel de Unamuno, José Ortega y Gasset, José Moreno Villa, Rafael Alberti, Eugenio D’Ors, Pedro Salinas or the young Federico García Lorca, Luis Buñuel, Severo Ochoa and Salvador Dalí.»
